AC Milan manager, Stefano Pioli has explained the reason behind his decision to bench Samuel Chukwueze against Juventus on Saturday.

Chukwueze has impressed in recent outings for the Rossoneri.

The Nigeria international was expected to be named in the starting line-up against the Bianconeri.

Pioli, however, named him among the substitutes to the surprise of many.

The Italian has said he has often had to sacrifice Chukwueze for a midfielder.

”I liked Pulisic (vs Juventus) instead. Chukwueze is also fine, but at the moment I won’t give up an extra midfielder to play with 4 attacking players and therefore Chukwueze is the one sacrificed the most at the moment,” Pioli told Milan News.
